Man Utd Must Sign These Three Players To Turn Around Their Season Quickly

It wasn’t the start Man Utd and their supporters hoped for as they were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Crystal Palace in their season opener at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

So many weaknesses were evident in that game including failing to impose themselves in the game as Palace got off to a flying start.

If Man Utd want to turn their season around quickly, then they must sign these three players.

1. Dayot Upamecano

Perhaps the most important. Speak all you want about Sancho Man Utd still need a centre back partner for Harry Maguire.

Lindelof was the culprit in that 3:1 loss. Talk about allowing easy crosses, conceding the penalty(not his fault that one) and being dispossessed so easily and being dribbled so easily too for the 3rd goal.

If Man Utd need that position sorted then it has to be Upamecano from Leipzig. The Frenchman is big, fast and has an eye for a tackle with great defensive positioning.

Maguire isn’t a great tackler himself but a great ball playing centre back. A partner like Dayot who would know where to be and when would go a long way in shoring up Man Utd’s defence.

2. Alex Telles

The left back is another problem position for the Red Devils. Luke Shaw was signed in 2014 to be the long term successor to Patrick Evra but 6 years on he’s yet to play a full season without getting injured.

He was also(and always has been) culpable for poor positioning in last Saturdays loss. He was unable to track the run of Townsend as the English man ghosted behind to fire in the early opener.

At 25, Shaw is no longer a young player and Man Utd must push all out to sign Alex Telles from Porto.

The Brazilian has great pace, great tackle, world class positional awareness, superb crossing ability and a great shot power and accuracy. His attacking abilities highlighted by the 11 goals and 13 assists he provided last season.

In stark contrast, Luke Shaw had 0 in both departments. If Man Utd want to improve this position after missing out on Sergio Reguilon, then Telles is their man and at €20 million a bargain buy.

3. Jadon Sancho

For Man United fans the most important bit in truth, the right wing is the least problem United have right now. I mean there isn’t a proper defensive midfielder in the team aside the ageing Nemanja Matic.

But that doesn’t mean Sancho isn’t a priority signing. He’d rack up goals and assists in massive numbers, something Man Utd are in dire need of after creating very few clear chances against Crystal Palace.

Dortmund are refusing to budge on their €120 million asking price so its unlikely that this deal would happen this summer.
