Alex Telles’ agent expects Manchester United to make offer after missing out on Sergio Reguilon

Alex Telles’ agent has reportedly told Porto to expect an offer from Manchester United for the talented defender.

The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new full-back and missed out on the signing of Sergio Reguilon.

The Real Madrid left-back is due to have his medical at Tottenham and United will have to turn their attentions elsewhere.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim Telles’ agent is confident that attention will be directed at his client and has even told Porto to expect a bid.

Porto are prepared to sell the 27-year-old before the transfer window shuts on 5 October as Telles has less than a year left on his current deal.

Telles would cost around £18million and United have already held talks with the Brazilian’s representatives.

Earlier this month there were rumours Telles’ agent, Pini Zahavi, had travelled to Manchester to hold further discussions with United about the deal.

Zahavi is confident United will now step up their interest and make a formal offer.

Telles would provide competition for Luke Shaw, who struggled with injuries last season missed the end of United’s 2019/20 campaign.

United have been linked with a host of players this summer but so far have made just one signing.

Midfielder Donny van de Beek arrived from Ajax in a £35m deal, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bring in more new faces.

Jadon Sancho is top of the United head coach’s wishlist, but the Red Devils have so far been unable to come to terms with Borussia Dortmund over a fee.
