£18.3million star agrees deal to sign for Manchester United – Journalist

Manchester United have been looking to sign a left for quite some time and after losing out on Reguilon, it seems that they are close to signing Alex Telles from Porto.

According to Mohamed Bouhafsi, the Red Devils have agreed a five year deal with the Brazilian international and will now discuss a fee with the Primeira Liga club.

The renowned French journalist is a reliable source, who works for famous media outlet RMC Sport.

As far as the fee is concerned, two days back, A Bola revealed (via Sport Witness) that the Liga Nos champions are willing to accept a price of just 20 million euros (£18.3million) because the defender will be out of contract in less than a year.

The Old Trafford club have decent defenders in their fullback positions but they have not been productive in the attack.

Luke Shaw is Solskajer’s first choice left back. The Three Lions star failed to score a single and goal and did not even provide a single assist in the Premier League last term.

On the other hand, Wan-Bissaka provided just 4 assists but he was rock solid at the back and not injury prone like Shaw.

Telles directly contributed in 25 goals for Porto last season. It must also be noted that Liverpool fullbacks, Alexander Arnold and Robertson, provided 25 assists in the Anfield club’s title winning campaign.

So, Manchester United definitely need productivity in the attacking third from their fullbacks and signing Alex Telles would help. The 27-year-old Samba star has proved his worth in Portugal and has got ample quality and experience to improve the Red Devils.

In your opinion, should Man United meet Porto’s asking price of £18.3million to get his signing done?
