United ‘agree initial fee’ for Sancho transfer

Look back over the latest Man Utd transfer gossip, injury updates and breaking news from Old Trafford throughout the day.

Manchester United insist there is nothing in reports from Portugal that Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is ‘on the way’ to the club this summer.

Reports this week had suggested the impressive forward was close to signing for United, but MEN Sport understand the reports are inaccurate and the 29-year-old is not close to joining.

Meanwhile, United are relaxed about their pursuit of Jadon Sancho amid attempts by Borussia Dortmund to pressurise them into making an early bid. A report in Germany this week claimed United submitted a £90million offer for priority target Sancho, but the club denied any bid had been made on the first day of the summer transfer window and Dortmund figures have privately admitted the same.

The MEN understands United believe Dortmund are attempting to arouse interest in Sancho from other clubs to accelerate a deal before their pre-season fixtures start.

The Independent claim United have agreed an initial fee of £60m for Jadon Sancho, with a number of add-ons still to be determined which would see the deal rise closer to Borussia Dortmund’s asking price.

The report says no formal talks have taken place, with this development coming through intermediaries. The £60m fee would rise to £100m in add-ons, and Dortmund are keen to agree a complete deal quickly to avoid a lengthy transfer saga, it is claimed
