Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly handed Ed Woodward his wish-list with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell on his radar to strengthen his side in the transfer window.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming big after getting his side back into the Premier League top four.
The Red Devils secured a third place finish on the final day and will return to Champions League football with Solskjaer publicly telling club chiefs they need to strengthen.
According to The Sun, he has already handed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward his wish-list as the summer transfer window opens.
And it could give him a tantalising side at his disposal if the three moves he craves come off.
Jadon Sancho is United’s top target, although Borussia Dortmund are adamant he will not be sold for anything less than market value.
It is also claimed Leicester City ace Ben Chilwell is amongst the targets for a new full-back, which could lead to a transfer battle with Chelsea for his signature.
Solskjaer is also said to be keen to add a midfielder, with various names continually linked.
Whilst Jack Grealish provides a flexible option, he has mainly operated on the wing or in advanced positions for Aston Villa this season.
And if Solskjaer craves a pure midfielder to play alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes then long-term target Donny van de Beek could fit the bill as he looks set to leave Ajax.
Solskjaer splashed the cash last summer to fill obvious holes with the additions of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, whilst the January arrival of Bruno Fernandes changed their fortunes.
In their quest for the top, adding Sancho, Chilwell and Van Beek would provide a top class first XI whilst also adding depth with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw being freed up for use in rotational roles.
Solskjaer’s dream summer might need some flexibility from Woodward, however, with claims he has a £140million kitty to spend which might be taken up almost entirely by Sancho.
The funds could be bolstered by sales of Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling as they look to make their stays in Italy permanent.
Either way, it looks set to be an exciting summer at Manchester United as their Champions League return sparks a rush to strengthen further in the transfer market.
