Paul Pogba can prove Manchester United were right about Jose Mourinho

"You expect to win every single game at Manchester United. You won't, but you must think that."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pretty much summarised the entire ethos of the legendary club in just two sentences when he last took his side to face Tottenham in the Premier League.

Having won his first four league matches as permanent manager Solskjaer faced his toughest test yet when he took United to Wembley in January last year to battle Tottenham Hotspur. What followed was an emphatic fight, as Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford linked up to score a stupendous goal and David de Gea produced a vintage display to secure a narrow away win.

That defeat was one which shook Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, and the fact he remains out of a job while Solskjaer soldiers on is still somewhat inconceivable even after United's heroics last year. With the Premier League ready to resume United again prepare for a trip to Tottenham, and yet again Solskjaer will be desperate for Pogba and Rashford to inspire his team to victory.

In recent years Tottenham have been labelled the 'media darlings' with a likeable squad, charismatic managers and a playing style which is typically easy on the eye. Mind you, nobody really feels intimidated by a team who never wins anything. The appointment of Jose Mourinho was made to address that silverware shortage, but even his Old Trafford return was ruined by the Norwegian last December.
